The Mid-Market restaurant exodus continues.

Nearly a year after opening in the Twitter Building (a.k.a. Market Square), it looks like Bon Marche Brasserie‘s days — at least in its current form — may be numbered. The news comes just weeks after the closure of two other short-lived and high profile restaurants, Cadence and Oro.

While the restaurant continues to operate business as usual for now, according to Eater, the property has been listed for sale.

Inside Scoop reached out to Mercer Restaurant Group’s Matt Semmelhack, who in addition to Bon Marche also operates AQ, Sababa, The Hall, to find out more details.

According to Semmelhack, the group feels that while the French-inspired restaurant and brewery concept works on a smaller scale, the current 7,200-square-foot set-up is just too big of a space for them to successfully operate. That said, Semmelhack and the Bon Marche team are still figuring out the best way to move forward regarding the future of the restaurant. This might include splitting up the space with a prospective buyer and continuing to operate in a smaller footprint, or having a new operator take over completely.

More details as they become available.
